New Delhi, 19th Aug 2020: Former BJP MLA Dr. Vijay Jolly led delegation of Asia’s largest unauthorized colony Sangam Vihar met Union State Home Minister Shri. G. Kishan Reddy at his residence today.
Located in South Delhi, more than 10.5 lakh poor people live in Sangam Vihar. It is a densely populated residential colony. The entry & exit routes of Sangam Vihar are very narrow. There is encroachments on Mangal Bazaar road & Ratia Marg. Due to which motorists, e-rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, tempos, water tankers, cars, school buses, trucks etc. all fight for space on narrow streets with frequent fights & curses every day stated Dr. Jolly.
Currently local Sangam Vihar Police Station is operating in dilapidated sheds with roofs of raw sheets. In worst conditions, the local police personnel are performing at their best to maintain law & order stated Dr. Jolly to State Home Minister Shri. Reddy.
Dr. Jolly’s delegation demanded construction of pucca-building of Sangam Vihar police station to replace the current dilapidated structure. He also called for re-location of the police malkhana encroaching on DDA green belt park. Dr. Jolly demanded that the main boundary wall of Sangam Vihar Police Station be shifted backwards so that the road becomes wide and blocked traffic can run smoothly. He demanded 24 hours x 7 days traffic police deployment on Mangal Bazaar road and Ratia Marg to control heavy traffic inflow & outflow.
Sangam Vihar delegation besides Dr. Jolly included Mangal Bazaar Ekta Vyapar Mandal Chairman Ladu Ram Jangid, Vishwakarma Mandir Gen. Sec. Prem Chand Sharma, D-block RWA President Sohan Lal Jangid along with Smt. Satindra Kumari.
